Three suspects in Drenthe art theft to remain in custody for another fourteen days

The examining magistrate of the North-Netherlands court in Assen has decided that the three suspects (two men and a woman from Heerhugowaard) in the case of the art heist at the Drents Museum in Assen will remain in custody for fourteen more days.

They are suspected of involvement in the burglary at the museum and the theft of four valuable Romanian art treasures in the early morning of Saturday, January 25, 2025. The burglary involved an exceptionally heavy explosion.

The investigation is still in full swing. The police and the Public Prosecution Service are working tirelessly to locate the stolen artworks. We continue to urge the public to share any information, as it may be valuable in recovering the stolen art.
