The Public Prosecution Office Amsterdam is reponsible for criminal investigations in the region Amsterdam, Amstelveen, Aalsmeer, Uithoorn, Ouder-Amstel and Diemen. It employs around 400 people, including some 75 public prosecutors. The Public Prosecution Office Amsterdam is headed by Acting Chief Prosecutor Mr. R.P.H.G. de Beukelaer, Deputy Chief Prosecutor Mr. J.H.A. Steenbrink and Director of Operations Mrs. H. Janssen.
